ASUS G73JW-XA1 Review :I sold my MacBook Pro to have this machine and Windows 7. I don’t regret it for one moment.

I bought this machine primarily for gaming, but also to use it daily as my work computer. It’s a champ at both jobs.

Some attributes:
–Fast: This machine never bogs down, and it has a fantastic video card. I can play Fallen Earth and Champions Online at full resolution with the details cranked up, and it’s smooth as butter. Also, I can rip and encode videos quickly.
–Quiet: The loudest thing about this machine is the optical drive, and even that operates at a whisper. My MacBook Pro’s fan and optical drive were both loud as sin. And that machine was nearly twice as expensive as this one!
–Cool: Run this machine as hard as you want — it’ll still be cool to the touch, thanks to the rear exhaust. My MacBook Pro constantly operated so hot that it almost burned my hands! I had to use an external keyboard all the time.
–Aesthetically pleasing: The chiclet keyboard is easy to use and feels great. The rubberized keyboard rest is very soothing as well. The machine is also just dead sexy to look at. The keyboard backlight, and other lights, are great.

Other bonuses:
–Bluray reader: heck yeah!
–Free backpack: This is actually a pretty nice backpack, and fits the laptop well (if snugly).
–Free gaming mouse: Ditto for this mouse: Pretty dang good for a give-a-way!

NOTE:
If you have any problems typing with the keyboard (i.e. missing keys when you know you hit them, especially when typing quickly), uninstall the Synaptics trackpad/mouse driver. This fixed this issue for me and others. This was the only problem I had with this machine.

Asus A52F-XE2 review : I got this laptop on black friday for $499 and it was the best purchase I’ve made on amazon so far.
It’s very light and runs very quickly and smoothly with good battery life. I’m an animation/illustration student so I needed a laptop that could handle all the big programs like Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, Maya(3D program),and others. This laptop has able to use them all without slowing down or crashing. I’m very happy with this laptop.

You can read the other reviews that everyone else has posted for more in depth reviews since I’m not that much of a technical person.
I got this computer as a Christmas present and so far it works great. I needed something for surfing the internet and downloading music and it does it perfectly. I would recommend this computer for everday simple use.

Xbox 360 250GB Kinect bundle :I purchased the Kinect with Kinect Sports, Dance Central and Your Shape : Fitness Evolved. In the few days that I’ve had it, I’ve introduced to a handful of family members – both young and old. We’ve had a our share of laughs and the great part is that everybody has been thoroughly delighted by the Kinect experience. In fact, it’s now on their holiday wishilists.

With that said, I should note that some of the applications that I had expected to be Kinect enabled are not Kinect enabled (for example, there is no gesture or speech support for Netflix). The great news is that Microsoft has a plan to address those gaps with free software updates and this experience is only going to get better.

So jump in, and Kinect. I did, and I’d do again in a heartbeat.

ViewSonic VX2250WM-LED review:I got this for Christmas to replace my eight year old CRT monitor. I have a Mac mini, so I already had the adapter. It is an HD screen, but my Mac isn’t HD-capable. Still excellent quality though. Setup was a snap. I had to tweak the color settings a bit to get it to where I like it. So far I’ve been very impressed though. I would say that it’s an excellent product for the money. The monitor fits beautifully on our desk. The pictures are sharp, the menu is easy to navigate via touch controls, and it required no significant setup – it even included all the necessary cables. A great deal! I am very satisfied with this monitor. Visually it is everything I wanted at a great price. If you are looking to use it for sound, it is not the most robust way to hear audio. I already had a great sound system and will not utilize the built-in speakers anyway. Again, excellent monitor overall.
